Green Aventurine

COLOR & LIGHT: Green aventurine gets its green color from microscopic Fuchsite particles. Aventurine is found primarily in three colors - green, blue, and red-brown.

PHYSICAL: UNCOMMON - A type of quartz, a silicon dioxide mineral with a hardness of 7. Comes primarily from southern India, Russia, and Brazil.

HISTORICAL: MIDDLE-AGES - The name aventurine derives from the Italian "a ventura" meaning "by chance". This is an allusion to the lucky discovery of aventurine glass or goldstone at some point in the 18th century.
